The Robe Mentality: How Wrapping Up Can Help You Wind Down

The Robe Life
As I put together the Robe Life Collection I thought about how the robe is a great garment for centering the mind. Whenever I throw on a robe after a shower there is something I notice. That it simply helps me draw my mind away from the day ahead or from the day behind me. I put on a robe and simultaneously allow for the time needed for my body to fully dry and to tend to my simple everyday self-care needs. When I’m done I am ready for whatever lies ahead. There’s something about slipping into a robe that changes the routine—it becomes a mindset.
A Robe as a Ritual
We all have routines that help us transition from one part of our day to another. A morning coffee to wake up, a workout to shake off stress, or even lighting a candle to set the mood for the evening. But have you ever considered the power of simply putting on a robe?
Throwing on a robe after a shower isn’t just about staying warm—it’s an invitation to slow down. It’s a moment of pause before the day takes hold or a soft embrace at the end of a long one. Even if you have a packed schedule ahead, a few extra moments in your robe can set the tone for a more relaxed and mindful approach to the day.
The Spa Feeling, Every Day
Think about how you feel at a spa. The dim lighting, the soft music, the scent of essential oils—all designed to signal to your brain: relax, breathe, be present. A robe can trigger that same feeling. You don’t need a high-end retreat to bring a little tranquility into your life. In fact, it’s better to find a way to sprinkle some tranquility into your everyday routine than it is to try and soak it up like a camel during a spa escape and hope you make it through the next stretch of chaos. Just wrap up and let go for a few minutes each day and it will pay dividends.
"Go Robe"—A State of Mind
It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of daily life, constantly thinking about what’s next. But when you “go robe” you’re reclaiming your mind. You’re stepping into comfort, choosing relaxation, and reminding yourself that unwinding isn’t just for weekends or vacations. So, leave your old life (and the stress) behind. Go robe.
